The Musica Mundo-Series concert on September 17th will focus on beautiful Persian music accompanied by related stories. As the grandson of a Persian Sufi master, Farid Sheek aims to bring cultures and beliefs closer together through music. “The main goal of my compositions is to combine the beauty of Western and Eastern music. During this concert, the world is experienced as one entity,” he says.

The program consists of two parts. In the first part, the ensemble primarily performs tranquil Persian music. Farid Sheek plays the percussion instrument called daf, which gives Sufi music its characteristic rhythm. Danial Moazeni from Vienna plays the string instrument called tar, and Mahan Mirarab plays the fretless guitar. Rasha Vrede adds an extra dimension to the concert with her Sufi dance.
